At Metcash, our Merchandise Strategy and Vendor Partnerships team is at the forefront of building successful collaborations with our vendor partners (suppliers). As a Trading Terms Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping these partnerships by utilising data and vendor engagement plans to engage directly with Metcash’s vendor partners to ensure our trading terms cover Metcash’s cost of doing business while providing fair value marketing activities to our vendor partners. This is your chance to contribute to a dynamic team that drives value and delivers outcomes that matter.
In this Role you will:
- Engage with key stakeholders to agree annual & quarterly priorities for vendor partner engagement,
- Liaise closely with Commercial finance to formulate a robust terms proposal,
- With support from the Trading Terms Analyst & input from key stakeholders, utilise relevant facts and data to build fit-for-purpose vendor Trading Terms proposals that cover the cost of services provided by Metcash while providing the vendor with fair value for their marketing activities,
- Collaborate across Metcash trading teams to ensure that trading terms proposals are aligned with Metcash’s commercial objectives and vendor engagement outcomes have the support of key stakeholders and are aligned to a strategic plan,
- Lead assigned vendor engagements and manage the end-to-end process in a timely manner considering counter proposals and modifying Metcash proposals as necessary,
- Validate and communicate Trading Terms outcomes to enable reporting & tracking,
- Collaborate with the Metcash legal team on changes to Trading Terms documentation that have been initiated by Metcash or to meet legal requirements,
- Create new trading terms agreements in the Salesforce Trading Terms solution from proposal to sign off stages,
- Be a go-to subject matter expert on the trading terms construct and the Salesforce Trading Terms solution who is willing to offer support and guidance to the broader merchandise team.
- Liaise closely with Trading Terms Administration team to ensure Trading Terms agreements are efficiently executed.
You’re Likely a Match If
- Solid experience in FMCG, Merchandise Buying or sales,
- Experience or good knowledge of the Trading Terms process,
- Excel proficiency, Power BI and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite,
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage a diverse range of stakeholders and major brand vendor partners,
- A self-starter with a positive attitude and a collaborative approach,
- A team player who thrives under pressure and delivers results,
- Flexible and able and willing to balance competing priorities.
