THE ROLE
This position will provide community engagement and administrative support to departmental projects and initiatives on the Collingwood, Fitzroy and Richmond public housing estates. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and develop new skills and capabilities within a supportive team environment.
To succeed in this role you will be:
- Interested in community development or working with local communities.
- Someone who likes working with other people and is a good communicator.
- Well organised and attentive to detail.
- Able to work confidently with different computer applications.
Applications from residents of public housing will be prioritised. Applications are particularly encouraged from members of culturally and linguistically diverse communities (CALD), women and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Undertake and complete a mandatory course of study - Short Course in Public Sector Service Delivery - through a registered training provider over the course of employment.
- Perform a range of administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner including answering routine queries, taking messages, following up on action items, arranging meetings and agendas, photocopying and filing.
- Perform computer-based tasks including preparing and sending standard written communications, posters and newsletters and updating databases.
- Provide face to face support to a variety of community engagement activities occurring across the Yarra estates.
