Primary objective
As a key role in the Training team, this position will contribute to and support the design, development, delivery and evaluation of quality
professional learning programs to build the capacity of staff within client agencies and the Department of Corporate and Digital
Development to utilise a diverse range of business information systems, applications and digital platforms
Context statement
Agency Business Systems – Justice and General Government manage client agencies’ core business digital systems through their life cycle
from strategy to design, development, release and deployment, operational delivery, maintenance, support and retirement.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Contribute to the design, development, delivery and evaluation of professional learning and support programs to build and strengthen
the competencies of staff in client agencies and within DCDD to effectively use digital business systems to meet strategic and
operational needs, including through coaching, mentoring, face-to-face, and delivery methods.
2. Contribute to the design, development and publication of online tutorials, digital content, support materials and tools that assist end-
users in client agencies and staff within DCDD to independently build their own capacity within digital business systems.
3. Contribute to the development and delivery of tailored induction programs for both new and existing staff across ABS-JGG in the
effective use of the agency Service Management toolset and relevant processes.
4. Provide high-level administrative support for training activities, including assisting with the management of physical learning
environments, motivating participants, maintaining focus and adapting training delivery styles to meet the specific needs of
participants.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Knowledge of the principals, frameworks and methodologies relevant to adult learning and Australian standards applicable to the
delivery of training, particularly current and emerging trends in digital delivery techniques
2. Experience delivering high quality workplace training in information systems using blended approaches.
3. Demonstrated experience in preparing training and support materials based on business needs.
4. Experience in providing high-level administrative support for training activities, including assisting with the management of physical
learning environments, motivating participants, maintaining focus and adapting training delivery styles to meet the specific needs of
participants.
5. Well-developed communication, facilitation, presentation and interpersonal skills, including understanding and sensitively responding
within a cross-cultural context and seeking to understand the audience and tailoring messages accordingly.
6. Demonstrated understanding of a range of computer software including the Microsoft Office suite, use of databases, eLearning
authoring tools, Learning Management Systems, Service Management Software as well as other enterprise systems, spreadsheets,
email, internet and other commonly used office administration software.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practise,
accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.
