Your new role
Are you passionate about managing strategic projects, delivering compliance and implementing safe work practices? We're looking for a proactive and dynamic individual to join our Safety, Training & Wellbeing Unit as a WHS Project Officer. This role focuses primarily on developing systematic processes and procedures to achieve safe systems of work in accordance with the Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain of Responsibility obligations.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the project direction, analyse operational data, develop organisational procedures and collaborate with stakeholders across Council to successfully implement strategic and systematic improvements for Council’s heavy vehicle fleet whilst driving a positive safety culture.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

- A motivated project leader to plan, develop and execute projects, ensuring project deliverables and milestones are accomplished.

- Ability to research, interpret and analyse information to drive positive corporate change in a unique and complex operational environment.

Application Criteria
- Experience in developing project plans and strategies and providing high-quality written reports with detailed analysis to management and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in leading, implementing and monitoring corporate level projects including the provision of recommendations or strategies for projects that have not met project milestones or expected outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in analysing legislation, implementing safe systems of work and providing specialist advice and assistance relating to specified project outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at establishing productive relationships and collaborating effectively with stakeholders to achieve required outcomes.
