Join our team as a Workplace Relations Advisor to provide advice and support to managers on casual pay entitlements and elevate University compliance capability.

Base Salary $126,065 - $142,171 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The Workplace Relations Advisor provides specialist advice on a range of workplace matters related to casual pay entitlements. They conduct comprehensive assessments of workplace pay entitlements, develop strategies aligning with university objectives, and contribute to the development and implementation of workplace relations advice. They also support educational activities to enhance the university's understanding regarding casual pay entitlements.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide specialist advice on casual pay entitlements
  • conduct end to end employee entitlement investigations, analysing evidence, synthesising information, and formulating comprehensive recommendations for decision-making
  • review and analyse large data sets, with a critical lens to identify potential areas of non compliance and associated risk
  • identify and demonstrate sound judgement where a casual pay entitlement has the potential or actual risk of underpayment, legal or reputational risk, and escalate to appropriate stakeholders
  • understand University and Workplace Relations obligations under regulatory frameworks, including external reporting.

About you

  • experience working in an environment with key focus on accurate and robust record keeping
  • proficiency in interpreting and conducting preliminary analysis of data, and other information sources
  • experience conducting preliminary assessments and/or workplace investigations
  • experience in providing policy and legislative advice
  • experience in interpreting and applying legislation.
