About the Role
Macquarie University is hiring for an Alumni Success/Relationship Officer to build and deepen connections within our alumni community, develop alumni engagement initiatives, and drive alumni giving.
Philanthropy and Alumni Relations within the Office of the Vice-Chancellor is responsible for all philanthropic activity across the University and creates, develops and manages relationships with alumni, friends and donors, and other supporters who help advance the University's mission.
Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with alumni through 1:1 meetings, events and online meetings to support the development of lifelong alumni relationships with the University
  • Proactively build alumni engagement to understand who, where, and what our alumni are doing and execute suitable activities for different types of alumni engagement
  • Support faculty engagement and collaboration with the alumni community to ensure activities align with overall strategic priorities and revenue generation
  • Receive and resolve or escalate alumni queries via email and phone
  • Support the execution of the annual giving program to build and deepen alumni giving across all cohorts
  • Support alumni networks, prominent alumni and reconnection initiatives (or any other alumni specific program)
  • Coordinate alumni events as required and provide support for large alumni events
  • Undertake data analysis, validation and improvement, as well as execution of email campaigns, social media and alumni calling
  • Comply with relevant EEO and WHS regulation and perform any other duties as required and appropriate for this classification
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Cross-cultural awareness, strong communication skills and understanding
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and supporting engagement initiatives and events
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) with demonstrated ability to develop engaging, beneficial and long-term connection with a wide range of audiences and individuals of all ages.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A positive can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Experience in contributing to improving systems, processes and/or procedures
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (including Excel) and the internet
  • Knowledge of, and experience with fundraising
