About the Role
This position plays a vital role in supporting the City of Ballarat’s Major Projects team, which is responsible for delivering some of the city’s most significant and exciting community infrastructure initiatives.
Reporting to the Executive Manager Major Projects, you will provide administrative support across two project management teams within the business unit, assisting throughout the entire lifecycle of the project portfolio.
About You:
The City of Ballarat are seeking an enthusatistic and collaborative Business Support Officer to join our Major Projects team. Ideally, you’ll bring experience in business administration within a Local Government setting.
To succeed in this role, you will have experience in:
- Providing comprehensive project and administrative support across all phases of project delivery, including report preparation, document management, governance reporting, and financial and grant administration.
- Developing and maintain administrative systems that support the successful delivery of major capital projects.
- Collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of your work.
We are seeking someone with:
- Post-secondary qualification in administration, project management or relevant experience.
- Experience in project and administration support in the delivery of major capital projects in a local government or community services context.
- Communication skills to effectively build relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and be able to gain their co-operation with the ability to adapt communications to meet different needs.
- Experience in maintaining administrative systems and sound skills & knowledge of Microsoft Software applications.
- Ability to show initiative, innovation and creativity when approaching all aspects of the position.
- Experience in identifying and initiating opportunities to develop new processes and procedures to improve the management of projects and engagement of stakeholders.
- Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to the position.
