About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Capability Program Planning Manager to join our based at Edinburgh Parks reporting to the Capability Sustainment Manager
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as hybrid working and a 9-day fortnight.
You will be responsible for the planning, resourcing, and bidding of the Ad-Hoc Work program. They will partner with the Asset Manager to ensure the right projects are scoped and estimated. The manager is also responsible for ensuring Early Engineering Works are completed to facilitate effective planning cycles. Finally, they will coordinate the Acquisition Programs’ interactions, dependencies, and constraints to ensure the overall program is efficient, effective, and minimising operational disruptions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and manage the long term Capability Program of Work.
- Plan and develop the bid package for the Ad-hoc Work Program Financial and Technical Milestones applicable for the Annual KPIs
- Plan the Early Engineering to enable an effective rolling program
- Ensure the program priorities are managed in accordance with technical risk framework.
- Support CoA with financial budgeting information
- Maintain the Program Financial Elements, including Annual RBAs.
- Liaise with Acquisition and Operations to manage interactions, dependencies and constraints and co-ordinate the overall program
- Continue to refine future year scope and planning packages to ensure early works required are identified and actioned
- Manage risks and opportunities
- Point of contact between Asset Management, Delivery Streams and Acquisition
- Support contracting and delivery strategies for large projects
- Manage rolling capacity model to ensure capability resources are adequate to deliver program.
About YOU
- Experience in a similar portfolio management or program oversight role.
- Demonstrated history of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Formal training or certification in Project Management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, PMBOK).
- Experience in a Project Management Office (PMO) environment is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, capable of inspiring and directing project teams.
- The ideal candidate will be comfortable with risk management tools and skilled at proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues.
- Must have a talent for navigating complex stakeholder environments and building effective relationships.
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
