QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role
You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing services that are customer oriented and meet customer expectations including time, cost and quality parameters and represent value for money.
Duties and skills involved:
Strategically program manage multiple building maintenance and capital programs, and monitor, report and analyse program progress against agreed budgets and delivery plans.
Develop customer briefs and prepare program plans for the delivery of programs by QBuild regions. Source program scope, budget estimates and timeframes, internal business rules and processes. This will require analysis and interpretation of business data, identify performance measures, and strategic outcomes and utilising innovative solutions.
Establish and maintain an effective network of internal and external stakeholders. You will be required to work closely with QBuild regions and provide advice to regional staff regarding the administration, delivery and progress of the programs, resolve issues and develop solutions to ensure that program targets are achieved.
Maintain positive relationships and partnerships with internal stakeholders and provide a high standard of service to customers to ensure joint business outcomes are achieved.
Analysis of complex data sets and early identification and rectification of integrity issues.
Be responsible for identifying that the business system tool (Ellipse) data integrity is correctly maintained and immediately address any issues.
Manage and coordinate all elements associated with the planning and delivery of Programs.
Coordinate a range of activities simultaneously and use resources, systems and processes effectively and efficiently to accomplish goals.
Actively contribute to an innovative culture that challenges processes to provide nimble operational solutions with long term benefits for QBuild and our customers.
Additional requirements (mandatory/desirable):
Use analysis, experience and judgement to make informed decisions and provide advice on managing maintenance programs (building/construction, facilities maintenance) in a building industry and public sector environment.
Demonstrated experience working with a business enterprise system (knowledge of Ellipse will be highly regarded) to interpret complex data sets.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
