Corrections Victoria operates Victoria's adult prison system, seeking to provide safe and secure containment for people in custody and an environment and programs and services that support rehabilitation. Corrections Victoria runs 11 public prisons, one transition centre, and oversees privately operated prisons. Corrections Victoria provides best practice interventions that aim to reduce the risk of reoffending, including case management informed by sound risk assessment, offence specific and offence related programs, and transition and reintegration supports.
About the Role
The role of Contracts and Program Support Officer is vital in ensuring the Aboriginal support functions and contracts that sit over the prison network are maintained. This position is crucial in ensuring the smooth delivery of cultural programs, compliance with reporting obligations, enhanced coordination of increased service and operational demands, and operational support.
As the Contracts and Program Support Officer you will:
- Work collaboratively with key service partners, including other teams in Corrections Victoria to identify and respond to issues and risks that affect Aboriginal programs and service performance.
- Manage the procurement process and contract monitoring and reporting for all Aboriginal services and programs within the Aboriginal and Workforce Outcomes division.
- Undertake quality assurance processes to ensure that documents are of a high-quality including reports, letters, and other documentation so as to achieve consistency of quality, professionalism and relevance of responses.
- Work with Microsoft programs, PowerBI, departmental databases including Oracle and Zycus for reporting and contract management such as identifying and correcting gaps and reporting on contract progress and compliance.
- Be able to manage projects under limited direction.
- Apply agreed business plans, policies and procedures to all corporate services tasks.
Some of your duties will include:
- Oversee invoice payment and month end processes including accruals, month end journals, reports and briefings.
- Manage procurement activities for the division including liaising with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant procurement policies and guidelines as required for the department.
- Monitor and manage items in Zycus for the division to ensure compliance.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated expertise in providing specialist administrative and corporate support.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake complex procurement activities.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake contract reporting and evaluation.
Qualifications
- Experience in procurement and contract management including contract monitoring, reporting and evaluation is desirable.
- Experience working with Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation or similar service providers is desirable.
