Corrective Services NSW has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven team player to join the team responsible for facilitating the delivery of education services and programs within a correctional centre.
Your role
Based at St Heliers Correctional Centre, you will coordinate the delivery of education programs and services, the role is also responsible for the supervision of the Assessment and Planning Officer. Work changes lives.

What you’ll do
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to plan the delivery of education and vocational training programs by the external education service provider.
- Coordinate the delivery of assessment and planning services to offenders including the identification of priority inmates and allocation and monitoring of team caseloads.
- Contribute to offender case management by providing regular reports on offenders’ learning progress and achievement and by participating in a range of case management activities.
- Monitor the quality of recording and reporting of offender participation in education and training programs.
- Appraise the performance of supervised staff and provide counsel and feedback to ensure organisational and personal development objectives are achieved.
What we’re looking for someone who is:
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
- A proficient communicator with intermediate technology skills.
- Experienced in leading a small team.
Essential requirements
- Operational experience in planning and scheduling educational programs: vocational training, foundation skills, traineeships, core skills assessments (CSA).
- Intermediate technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams and records management software.
- Current Driver Licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role.
Assignment to this role is subject to Criminal Records Check, Medical and Capability Assessments.
