SPC Global (ASX:SPG) is an iconic food manufacturer with a 100-year commitment to playing a positive role in the Australian economy and manufacturing industry. Our commercial business office in Melbourne CBD runs four Business Divisions – SPC, The Original Juice Co, Nature One Dairy and Natural Ingredients.

This is an exciting time to join our agribusiness as we unlock new growth potential and take our business global. Our business has recently revisited our values with purpose of globalising an iconic Australian brand.

The Opportunity:

The key purpose of the People & Culture Manager at our site in Auburn is to partner with the senior management team on site to drive people activities across the site to enhance performance. The role will activate the global People initiatives across the group and will integrate seamlessly with day-to-day operations at the Auburn site to provide practical and knowledge-based advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leaders along with other key stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
  • Design P&C plans to support production.
  • Coach site leadership members on leadership capability to drive development and retention.
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling queries, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related issues
  • Provide data-driven people insights to the Operations leadership team and P&C function that underpin the business and people strategy
  • Provide operational HR advice on the interpretation of HR policies and procedures, employment legislation, recruitment strategies, performance and managing change processes
  • Drive talent acquisition & development for all roles on site, being both management and production staff. This includes the development of key staff and succession planning.
  • Manage and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigation
  • Design and deliver specific people and employee relations programs
  • Lead, or contribute to, key organisational development, People & Culture and change projects
  • Review processes and systems with a view to continuously improve the efficiency of HR processes
  • Actively promote cultural change and support new ways of working and continuous improvement within HR to provide a high quality, professional, consistent, and cohesive HR service
  • Support Employee Health & Wellbeing initiatives
  • Drive site-based engagement action plans, including communication, reward and recognition and continuous improvement

To be successful in this role you will not be afraid to get your hair net on and build relationships across the factory floor. Whilst the tertiary qualification will show that you have the skills, the ability to integrate into the factory team and be the pulse of the site will be key to having a true impact. Some remote working may be considered in some circumstances, but this is primarily an on site role to partner with the business.

Working with operational teams in a manufacturing business is not essential but will be helpful in understanding elements such as Award conditions, consultation requirements, dispute resolution and other matters. We are a non-unionised site, where we work with employees collaboratively.

Our Culture:

Our employees come from all walks of life, across many cultures and backgrounds. The strength of our brands is supported through the strength of our people.

This is a rare opportunity to join a diverse, exciting workplace during a transformation period and make positive contributions to the growth of SPC.

Aside from being part of one of Australia’s most iconic businesses, SPC will also make sure you are fully trained for the job you are asked to do, and you will work in a great team environment with others who have a wealth of experience to share. We offer a competitive salary and opportunities for personal and career development.

You will be required to meet SPC’s employment criteria which will include pre-employment medical screening. Interested?
