About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and personable Purchasing Officer to join our team in Brisbane. Whether you’re an experienced Purchasing professional or just starting out and eager to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities
- Monitor sales summaries and forecast inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Collaborate with the sales team to improve forecast accuracy.
- Plan purchasing schedules and maintain shipment records in line with supplier lead times.
- Raise purchase orders and communicate with both domestic and international suppliers.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouse teams, and transport companies.
- Review shipping documentation and submit to customs brokers on time.
- Monitor updated schedules of each shipment and coordinate delivery/unpacking plans with communications with internal logistics team/external storage company.
- Check supplier and customs invoices.
- Enter and maintain purchase order and shipment data in internal systems.
- Regularly assess import costs and compare with alternate service providers.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Attend inspections when required.
Requirements and skills
- Intermediate PC skills, especially Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Business-level in English (both verbal and written).
- Japanese language skills (preferred)
- A citizen, or hold a permanent visa (such as permanent residency), which allows unrestricted work rights.
- Most importantly: someone who’s proactive, reliable, and enjoys working with people.
