We are seeking an experienced policy professional ready to step into the role of Senior Policy and Strategy Officer, guiding inclusive sport and recreation policies and programs across NSW
- Leverage your expertise to shape impactful policies that drive real change for communities across NSW.
- Ongoing full-time opportunity based at Sydney Olympic Park location – flexible work arrangements will be considered.
- Salary ranges from $ 129,464 to $ 142,665 + super & leave loading.
About the role
The Senior Policy and Strategy Officer is a subject matter expert responsible for developing and implementing policy, program and strategic initiatives that support increased participation in sport and active recreation across New South Wales. The role involves applying evidence-based analysis to inform policy and programs, managing competing priorities, and contributing to cross-sector collaboration to support government and organisational objectives.
Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, this role contributes to the design, evaluation, and continuous improvement of strategies, action plans and programs aligned with the Office of Sport’s purpose and strategic direction.

About you
Our ideal candidate will bring to the role:
- Demonstrated experience in policy and program development, with strong analytical skills to assess complex issues and deliver evidence-based impactful outcomes.
- Strong capability to engage stakeholders through tailored communication and strategic negotiation, supporting informed and effective decision-making.
- Proven ability to meet competing demands and fast-moving priorities to deliver smart, inclusive solutions that make a difference.
- Proficiency in producing comprehensive reports and correspondence, alongside the ability to mentor staff to ensure compliance and successful delivery of policy and program initiatives.
