Welcome to Lutheran Care
We are an energetic, forward-thinking, not-for-profit organisation, providing support to people who need it most.
In the Northern Territory, we deliver Financial Wellbeing services across Central Australia and are proud to be leading the new Central Intake Service, a Territory-wide initiative improving access to support for people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.
Our work in the NT builds on our strong foundation in South Australia, where we provide services such as foster care, homelessness support, emergency relief, family support, counselling and allied health services. Whoever you are and wherever you come from, we will walk alongside you respecting all cultural backgrounds, beliefs, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
Our programs aren’t just services; we’re breaking down barriers and creating real opportunities for people to belong and thrive.
Lead with purpose. Build systems that change lives
About the Role
At Lutheran Care, we believe the way we lead our people shapes the impact we have in the community. We’re looking for a supportive and capable Team Leader who thrives on guiding frontline teams, solving problems collaboratively, and ensuring services are delivered with respect, care and compassion.
This role is part of the new Central Intake Service, a Territory-wide initiative designed to improve access to support for people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. The service works to reduce barriers, minimise duplication, and lessen the need for people to tell their story multiple times.
As Team Leader, you will report to the Program Manager Homelessness and be part of a supportive leadership team that works together to bring the Central Intake Service to life.
You’ll directly lead and support a team of Pathway Workers, guiding them through the day-to-day delivery of the service. Your role is to help them stay connected to the purpose of the work, navigate challenges with confidence, and deliver consistent, high-quality support.
At the heart of Central Intake Service is a commitment to being inclusive, respectful, and continually learning through ongoing cultural awareness and understanding. You will work in close partnership with Yilli Rreung Aboriginal Corporation, The Salvation Army, and other community organisations to make sure services are delivered in a way that is safe, culturally responsive, and meets local needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support a team of Pathway Workers helping them navigate client situations with confidence and care.
Drive continuous improvement by implementing systems that enhance service delivery, promote staff wellbeing, and support safe, effective practice.
Support a small caseload of clients directly, helping them work through challenges and find the right services.
Obtain and implement client feedback to help shape and improve the service.
Promote and represent the Central Intake Service and Lutheran Care across the Northern Territory, building trust and strengthening our presence in the community.
