Develop a comprehensive test automation strategy aligned with the overall testing and development strategy.
Collaboratively work with the specialist streams within DHS to define the scope of test automation and identify areas where automation can bring the most value.
Evaluate, recommend, implement, and configure automation tools to establish a robust and efficient framework aligned with business and technical needs.
Collaborate with the testing team and the subject matter experts to create detailed test plans and test cases for automation.
Define test data and environment requirements for automated test execution.
Oversee the development of automated test scripts, ensuring they follow coding standards and are maintainable, scalable, and reusable.
Integrate automated tests and frameworks with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines to enable streamlined and automated testing workflows.
Provide training and mentorship to team members on test automation best practices.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
Demonstrated experience in planning and leading all phases of technical (automation) testing within large, complex IM/ICT programs/projects, including test strategy, resource management, cost and time estimation, and delivery of audit-ready artefacts. (SFIA Skill: TEST: Level 5)
Demonstrated experience in the implementation of quality testing methods and frameworks to ensure the integrity of testing. (SFIA Skill: TEST: Level 5)
Demonstrated expertise in selecting, designing, implementing, and optimising automation tools and frameworks to improve testing efficiency, scalability, and maintainability. (SFIA Skill: METL: Level 5)
Ability to initiate relationships and influence key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of required IM/ICT outcomes. (SFIA Skill: RLMT: Level 5)
Demonstrated high level analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills with a proven record in the assessment and evaluation of testing requirements within a complex IM/ICT environment.
Ability to lead, manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary team.
