About the role
As an Administration Assistant, this is your opportunity to provide essential administrative support to our team, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of services across the department. In this key role, you will maintain accurate records, assist staff, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of our services. Reporting directly to the Corps Officers, this is a maximum-term, part-time position offering 8 hours per week, based in Macksville, NSW. Salary is in accordance with Clerks Private Award Level 3.
How you will make an impact
- Support the preparation of reports, the Corps Newsletter, and various documents related to Corps activities (e.g., posters, meeting minutes).
- Assist with planning and preparation for worship services.
- Serve as the primary contact for the Corps, handling all telephone and email enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Provide hospitality support to Corps Officers by preparing tea and coffee for visitors as needed, and ensure that kitchen, office, and reception areas are kept clean and organised.
- Oversee the smooth operation of office equipment, manage stationery supplies, filing systems, and handle incoming/outgoing mail and emails.
- Maintain Corps records, including hall hire bookings and vehicle diaries.
- Coordinate property-related matters such as WHS audits and maintenance requests.
- Ensure the security of Corps premises when the building is unattended.
- Manage financial administration tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Assist in the coordination and administration of Corps events, including Christmas and Red Shield campaigns.
- Act as the point of contact for distributing Emergency Assistance through Salvos Phone Assessment Line (PAL)
What you will bring
- Drivers Licence
- Working With Children’s Check (desired)
- Proven experience in an administrative or office support role
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- high level of discretion and reliability when handling sensitive information
