About the Role
The Transport Network Operations Branch provides high level maintenance, construction and asset management services for all road and related infrastructure assets (pavements, bridges, drainage, pathways and street furniture). Continuous performance through leadership and employee engagement is a critical focus of the group
In this role, you will carry out a hands-on role in delivering and maintaining efficient and effective day-to-day operation of civil maintenance and construction tasks.
Key duties:
- Assist in general construction and maintenance labouring tasks associated with and including truck operations.
- Meet obligations under the Workplace Health and Safety Act (as detailed below) and the Environmental Protection Act
- Assist the Field Leader in supervision of tasks and the provision of on-the-job coaching as required.
Based at the Image Flat Quarry, you’ll be part of a collaborative and safety-focused environment, where continuous improvement and service excellence are key to success.
About you
You have a General Safety Induction (Blue Card) and a current C class driver’s licence. You’re physically fit and agile, capable of frequent heavy lifting and manual labour.
Ideally, you also hold a current MR licence and have experience and ability to operate and undertake general maintenance of trucks, relevant civil construction and machinery.
You’re a reliable team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills. You work safely, follow procedures, and contribute to a positive team culture.
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
