About QIMR Berghofer:
QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer, Infection and Inflammation, Brain and Mental Health, and Population Health. About the Engagement & Advancement Department:
The Engagement and Advancement department is responsible for positioning, promoting and protecting QIMR Berghofer, as well as raising vital funding through philanthropic endeavours, corporate partnerships and community engagement to support the remarkable life-saving work of the Institute’s researchers. The team is focused on delivering high quality media, marketing, government relations, community engagement, communications, events, fundraising and philanthropy activities, aligned to the Institute’s strategic objectives.
Role Purpose / Responsibilities:
We are seeking a passionate Gifts in Wills Officer who will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Bequests and Estates program in order to maximise the generation of funds from bequests to support QIMR Berghofer’s current and future research programs.
Reporting to the Gifts in Wills Specialist, you will:
- Assist with Estate administration function which includes liaising with executors and solicitors regarding settlement of estates
- Produce monthly reports on the state of pending estates and settlements and conversion of estates pending to realised
- Assist with preparation and delivery of the Gifts in Wills program
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Privacy and Fundraising Legislation
- Keep up to date with best practices and current trends
About you:
To be successful in this position you will have demonstrated experience in a Fundraising and Philanthropy program, Wills and Estates administration, or possess skills and experience directly transferable to the role. You will have excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to adapt messages to audiences and channels. Most importantly you will have impeccable personal ethical standards and a sound knowledge of the rights and responsibilities associated with working with the elderly and people in vulnerable positions.

Remuneration: Salary range is $91,591 to $100,862 p.a. plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, continuing appointment.
