Reporting locally to our CRO and globally to our Head of NFR Retail Rest of World, this is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and managing the NFR framework and associated policies and procedures and challenging and advising on its implementation and the risk exposures in the business. The function is independent and organisationally segregated from business line management and employees that originate risk exposures.
This role will be critical in helping to enhance the risk culture at a business level across the bank. Advocating how we can do this and co-ordinating with first line colleagues to guide implementation. You will also be a key stakeholder in terms of navigating regulatory reviews, transformations and ensuring the productivity of the risk team remains high.
This role would suit an experienced banking non-financial risk people leader who has proven experience managing risk transformations. It would also be highly beneficial to have exposure to IT Risk and working in a global environment.

What you will do
Oversight, advisory and challenge of implementation of non-financial risk management and its associated frameworks across the business
Providing training and knowledge sharing across teams on various non-financial risk topics
Assisting the Chair of the Risk & Compliance Committee (RACC) in maintaining and overseeing the committee, including it’s secretariat function, jointly with other Risk Management leadership
Assisting the CRO in the management of Connexa, IBAL’s governance, risk and compliance system
Assisting the CRO in their regulatory obligations relating CPS 220 Risk Management, Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) and other compliance requirements
Developing and owning the NFR plan that aligns with ING Australia’s goals and regulatory obligations and ING Group’s strategy
Managing the NFR team to ensure that it is future-fit and continuously improving, which includes leading, recruiting and developing talent
What we are looking for
At least 15 years’ experience in Risk, Compliance and/or Audit background, within the 3 lines of defence within Banking & Financial Services
10+ years’ experience in managing teams
Sound knowledge of retail banking products
Strong understanding of NFR including the frameworks and in practice
Sound knowledge of regulatory compliance and prudential compliance requirements of an ADI including APS 114, 115, CPS 230, 231, 232 FAR and SOX
Understanding of the business drivers and the strategic direction of the Bank and role of risk management in achieving objectives
Awareness of current industry threats, trends and issues that potentially affect the Bank's business, e.g. cyber threat trends, etc
