The Opportunity
The Project QA Officer, under the direction of the Operations Manager, shall provide efficient and effective Objective Quality Evidence for tasks conducted by the Trade functions in the Austal Cairns Shipyard.
This opportunity will suit an individual with a trade background who is looking to transition into an office-based role.
What’s involved
- Work with the Project Team and Trade function to ensure the quality standard for the task is understood.
- Develop Objective Quality Evidence to the requirements of Internal and External Customers to assure vessel integrity.
- Identify areas of non-compliance and record in Austal’s Quality Management System.
- Liaise with the Quality Assurance function to identify continuous improvement opportunities with Austal’s operating processes and documentation.
You’ll need
Essential
- Trade qualification in relevant field (Mechanical Fitter, Boilermaker, Painting
- Sound written English skills
- MS Office experience
Desirable
- Maintenance operations – marine / ship repair related
