About the role: Rostering Officer
The Rostering Officer will manage participant and staff rosters to meet individual NDIS plans and be in line with operational and legal requirements. They will serve as the primary contact for roster management, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is recorded; while addressing changes in availability, scheduling, and coverage for absences.
Additionally, they will review schedules, check shift notes, report staff shortages, engage with induction of new staff and ensure all incidents and correspondence are documented. While performing general office administration tasks and support professional development and compliance with industry standards as required.

Experience:
- Ideally 2 years’ experience working in Disability or Community Services sector.
- Demonstrated understanding of disability, mental illness, and the needs of carers of and Participants.
- Experience engaging with people who may have complex needs and behaviours.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills
Required Certifications:
- Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s License and comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Disability Worker Screening/NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card)
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Nationally recognised First AID & CPR Certificate
- COVID Vaccinated (2 doses)
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of and experience working within the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Industry Award 2010
- Previous rostering experience
- Experience rostering for 24 hour supported independent living (SIL) residential environments.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills including data management, record keeping and reporting.
- Ability to develop and maintain networks to a diverse range of service providers and client groups.
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues.
Duties:
- Supports Service Delivery team to achieve Participant/Customer targets and outcomes within all operational areas/ programs.
- Roster Staff in compliance with SCHADS Award, Fair work requirements and Business requirements
- Be the primary point of contact for Participants and Lifestyle Facilitators in relation to roster management.
- Ensure appropriate rostering of Lifestyle Facilitators in line with staff qualifications, experience, legal requirements, restrictions, and Participants care needs.
- Coordinate development and ongoing coverage of participant rosters
- Participate in completing ON CALL as a requirement of the Service Delivery team
- Ability to attend and cover shifts with participants as required
- Ensure accurate record keeping of all correspondence for staff and participants files.
- Conversations are documented, case noted and relevant documentation and communications are saved to file.
- Organise training for staff as requested by Service Delivery or stakeholders, in consultation with Service Delivery Team and co-ordinate attendance in line with business operational needs.
- Report customer and staff incidents to Service Delivery Team Leader and support processes to ensure appropriate documentation is completed, actioned, and filed
- Ensure reportable incidents as per definition provided by the NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission are identified to Disability Service Manager
- Provides comprehensive and detailed reports internally and externally as required and in a timely manner
- Assists with the day-to-day administration functions of the office, answering phones, filing etc
- Responsible for updating phone system on a day-to-day basis to ensure calls are diverted to appropriate staff members.
