Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Roster Administrator to support the Emergency Department at Nepean Hospital. This role is responsible for preparing and managing medical staff rosters, ensuring optimal coverage for both planned and unplanned leave. You will liaise with multiple departments to compile daily rosters, maintain accurate records in Patienteer, and ensure compliance with employment conditions and award provisions. Your responsibilities will include managing locum placements, processing timesheets, monitoring overtime, and escalating staffing deficits as needed. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll work closely with the JMO Unit, Nurse Manager, and medical leadership to ensure seamless operations. Experience with StaffLink and HealthRoster is highly desirable, along with a solid understanding of JMO policies and workforce planning.

What you will bring to the role
- Demonstrated capacity to provide effective and professional administrative support, in confidence and with discretion.
- Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with management and staff at all levels.
- Confident and proactive in learning new online tools and software. Including the proficient use of MS Office Suite.
- Strong organisational skills with demonstrated ability to plan, organise, set priorities to meet deadlines.
- Experience in responding to a range of enquiries and determining the appropriate response in a complex work environment.
- Demonstrated experience with HealthRoster system or similar roster programme and co-ordination of rosters.
- Demonstrated experience in managing payroll and rostering queries and liaising with relevant personnel to respond to anomalies.
- High level analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to research information to resolve or escalate matters as they arise.
