The Course Development Coordinator plays a key role in managing the administrative, logistical, and communication aspects of new course development. This role ensures alignment across teams, timely delivery, and compliance with academic and regulatory requirements.
Project Coordination
Manage timelines, workflows, and deliverables for new course development, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and deadlines.Compliance and Documentation
Support the creation and review of course proposals, business cases, curriculum mapping, and accreditation documentation, ensuring governance and quality standards are met.Stakeholder Communication
Serve as a central liaison between academic teams, learning designers, marketing, and compliance staff to maintain clear communication and alignment.Curriculum Asset Management
Maintain and distribute documentation templates and guides, ensure version control, and promote consistency and accessibility across course materials.Monitoring and Risk Oversight
Track development progress, identify risks or delays, and implement mitigation strategies using dashboards and reporting tools.Cross-Team Alignment
Facilitate collaboration between departments, mediate competing priorities, and ensure course content aligns with pedagogical frameworks and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and/ or qualifications and/or experience in project management
- Experience with curriculum development or higher education operations
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Knowledge of regulatory and governance processes in higher education
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within academic governance structures
- Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas)
- Experience in private or not-for-profit education institutions
