About the opportunity
The Faculty of Engineering is welcoming applications for an Education Support Officer to provide a broad range of education administrative and operational support to Academic and Teaching staff to meet the educational support needs of the Faculty and Schools. This role is part of the Faculty Education Services Portfolio but will be embedded part or full-time in one of the seven schools at any given time based on needs . The role reports to Faculty level but day-to-day report to the respective school manager. Flexibility, dealing with ambiguity and adaptability are key as we are working through a renewed operating model.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
maintain a comprehensive understanding of the student life cycle including enrolment, special considerations, appeals, exams etc for both undergraduate and postgraduate students
provide targeted support to large units and/ or specific highly productive academics
Work on ad-hoc projects for schools
assist with committees and work with the relevant professional staff and academic roles to support Engineering students
provide high level support and assistance in relation to course management and, students across our coursework programs as well as academic staff
work across education services teams in peak- times and closely collaborate with schools and their education staff
About you

a tertiary qualification with some relevant work experience; and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
effective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) together with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes
superior computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office (in particular Excel) together with experience operating with large, corporate-level database and information systems
experience delivering education programmes, preferably in a tertiary education environment
experience working in a tertiary environment with working knowledge of using Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, together with sound understanding of timetabling/rostering of student activities.
