Company Description
At Schréder, we’ve been illuminating cities, industries, and communities for over a century. As pioneers in smart, sustainable lighting, our technology powers safer streets, more efficient infrastructures, and vibrant public spaces in over 35 countries.
With sustainability at the heart of everything we do, we’re helping the world transition to smarter, greener urban ecosystems—reducing energy use, cutting carbon emissions, and protecting what matters most.
Be part of our mission to transform how we light up the world—creating solutions that strengthen communities, support the planet, and shape the future of intelligent lighting.
Job Description
We’re seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to lead our growth in the commercial and infrastructure lighting market. This is more than just a sales role—it’s a rare opportunity to be part of the strong growth of a well-respected national brand and see your projects come to life.
You’ll be working directly with Engineers, Architects, End-users, Specifiers, Lighting Designers and Project Stakeholders, supported by a dedicated in-house team of lighting designers, engineers, and technical specialists. This is a truly collaborative environment where cross-functional support is not just available—it’s embedded into how we work.
We’re not looking for lead generators. We’re looking for real hunters who are closers and go-getters—professionals who can take ownership of opportunities, navigate complex sales cycles, and deliver real value to clients. If you thrive on forging relationships, solving problems, and seeing a project through from pitch to completion, you’ll fit right in.

- Demonstrated ability to win complex, high-value projects and manage multiple stakeholders through the sales cycle.
- Experience dealing with both technical and non-technical people, such as architects, engineers, lighting designers, contractors, councils, developers, etc.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and proposal documentation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of CRM systems and ability to manage a structured sales pipeline.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred, but not essential).
- Must have full working rights in Australia (no restriction)

Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM records, and contribute insights to regional growth strategy.
What We’re Looking For:
Commercially sharp, technically credible, and highly motivated by closing meaningful deals.
Confident working independently in the field while collaborating closely with internal teams.
Skilled at building trust and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders—from specifiers to end-users.
A natural problem-solver with a consultative selling style and a deep understanding of solution-based sales.
Passionate about innovation, sustainability, and the positive impact of smart lighting on communities and cities.
