What You'll be Doing
This position will have a professional development plan in place that will provide the opportunity for work based development which allows for progression through the Award levels in accordance with the incumbent’s skill acquisition.

Where You'll Be Working
SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

  • Being female is recognised as a genuine occupation qualification and is authorised under section 31(2h) of the AntiDiscrimination Act 1977.
  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant counselling degree deemed appropriate by employer or completion in the ECAV pathway, with demonstrated cultural expertise.
  • Describe your ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, including how you build partnerships with local agencies. Please also outline your communication (written and verbal) and computer skills, your commitment to clinical supervision and professional learning, and your understanding of quality processes and evidence based practice in counselling.
  • Describe how you would provide culturally responsive counselling services to individuals, and their families and provide an understanding of the legal and policy framework governing child protection in NSW.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
