As our Technology for Impact Product Owner, you'll drive strategic digital initiatives that amplify our mission, enable scale, and ensure our programs are more responsive, inclusive, and sustainable. This exciting parental leave cover role offers the chance to maintain momentum on critical technology programs while collaborating across multiple organisational units to deliver real impact.
What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Champion our Technology for Impact strategy, aligning digital innovation with programmatic goals and global development trends
- Steward ongoing digital transformation initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Product Excellence
- Oversee 3-5 digital initiatives across their complete lifecycle from design to sustainability planning
- Ensure all digital products remain user-centred, trauma-informed, and contextually appropriate
- agile methodologies and human-centered design principles to create meaningful solutions
Collaborative Impact
- Partner with operational teams, program experts, and external stakeholders to co-design tech-enabled solutions
- Work with technical subject matter experts to address key development challenges
- Maintain comprehensive documentation to ensure seamless knowledge transfer
Ethical Technology Leadership
- Champion compliance with data protection, cybersecurity, and digital safeguarding standards
- Promote ethical technology practices focused on equity, inclusion, data sovereignty, and harm minimisation
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- 5+ years in digital product management, preferably in development, non-profit, or social impact contexts
- Expertise in agile/lean software development methodologies and human-centered design
- Knowledge of emerging technologies including AI, machine learning, and mobile innovations
- Understanding of cybersecurity, data protection regulations, and privacy best practices
- Strong grasp of international development context, challenges, and approaches
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-cultural collaboration skills
Highly Valued
- Technology strategy development and implementation experience
- Experience working in or with the Global South
- Familiarity with donor-funded programs (DFAT, UN Agencies)
- Data governance, analytics, and evidence-based decision making expertise
