About our role
Northern Star has a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Training Advisor, critical team member of the Health and Safety team, to support and assist the Jundee Operations in the development, review, and delivery of a range of training programs across all departments including processing and maintenance.
Additionally, this role is ensuring all Northern Star employees training is delivered in line with Northern Star’s Induction, Training & Assessing and Competency Training Performance Standards at our world-class Jundee operations.
This is a permanent full-time role offered on 8 days on 6 days off roster flying in and out of Perth.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Liaising with the Health & Safety Manager and relevant site Leaders to schedule department training and assessing activities
- Supporting the WHS Mines Statutory Certificates and Examinations key focus area currently to ensure prepared for the upcoming legislative requirements implementation
- Delivering company and site inductions.
- Working with a back-to-back team member to support the operational delivery and consistency onsite for training.
- Assisting in reviewing the accuracy of programs as well as implementing and promoting operating procedures, standards and training for Northern Star operations to meet industry standards
- Participating in and supporting annual reviews and feedback for continuous improvement of Northern Star’s training systems and programs
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining operating procedures, standards and training manuals for mining equipment and operations
- INX InTuition training reporting and compliance monitoring (Weekly, Monthly, Adhoc)
- Assisting with the development and delivery of consistent competency-based training and assessment for all site teams, including re-assessment and evaluation
- Assisting to develop and review training needs analyses (TNA) and competency assessment tools as required
- Aiding, coaching, mentoring and support to other onsite Trainer/Assessors
- Completing all relevant training and assessment documentation accurately, correctly in a timely manner and ensuring all training is recorded and maintained within INX InTuition
- Liaising with external training providers
- Liaising and working with the onsite Health and Safety team
- Working with the NSR Perth Training Corporate Team and Training Advisor peers across other sites
- Ensuring job-specific safety skills and responsibilities are met
- Maintaining current industry knowledge and skills for Training and Assessing qualifications and hold current vocational competencies for task being trained and assessed against
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Experience: Previous experience working in a similar role, working in a mining environment, with strong skills in face-to-face leadership mentoring and coaching. A strong background in process plant and fixed plant maintenance operations is also highly desirable as these groups are our main client base. Systems experience in INX, Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with Power BI reporting use.
Qualification: Certificate IV Training & Assessment – TAE40116 or higher, Current Australian C - Class Drivers Licence and First Aid Certificate. Experience and competencies in mobile plant operations is desirable: Forklift truck, Elevated Work Platform, Telescopic Telehandler, Skid Steer Loader, Wheeled Front End Loader, Integrated Tool Carrier
