  • Temporary full-time position until October 2026
  • Based in Taperoo, SA

The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people experiencing poverty to overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential by providing holistic, long-term support for their education.

About the role

We are currently seeking a Program Coordinator to coordinate the delivery of the Learning for Life suite of programs, including the building and maintenance of key school partnerships to help us achieve The Smith Family’s vision. Reporting to the Team Leader and working with a dedicated, energised, and passionate team in a fast-paced environment, this role focuses on achieving stronger educational outcomes for students who participate in our programs and to contribute to stronger school attendance and Year 12 attainment as a result.

A day in the life of a Program Coordinator might look like this, but every day can be different. Primarily, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying the needs of schools and community to determine program fit
  • Facilitate the delivery and administration of appropriate programs from the Learning for Life Suite in partner schools and the local community
  • Maintain program participation numbers to agreed targets. This includes an increased engagement of Learning for Life scholarship students in programs
  • Maintain program fidelity throughout the course of implementation
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered into database in a timely manner

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Experience in building strong relationships with partner schools and community stakeholders
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capability to work autonomously; organising your own day, problem solving and adapting when things don’t go to plan
  • Computer literacy and motivation; completing administrative or data entry tasks and achieving goals
  • A current driver’s licence

Our benefits

Employees are at the centre of The Smith Family’s values and operations. By joining our team, you can expect to:

  • Find balance; with flexible work options and opportunities to purchase additional annual leave
  • Maximise your take home pay; with salary packaging, as well as opportunities to save with discounts at retailers across the country
  • Fulfill your potential, with excellent career opportunities, a suite of development programs and a dedicated learning and development platform
  • Feel you belong; with inclusive leave options, including paid parental, cultural and gender affirmation leave
  • Thrive; with support for you and your family’s mental and physical health including a complete care and safety platform, unlimited Employee Assistance and access to a huge range of fitness facilities with Fitness Passport

About us

The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity with a vision of a world where every child has the opportunity to change their future, no matter their circumstances. We believe that education is one of the most powerful change agents, and we work with young Australians to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty – so they can thrive now and into their futures.

Closing date: 29 August 2025

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate must be prepared to undertake a National Police Check and a Working with Children’s Check.
